Breakfast

             

As I awake from a peaceful slumber, I start to
A poem that causes people to contemplate
I decide to not think of it while hungry, so then I decide
To walk to a dining hall, to have my hunger subside

As I enter the facilities, I spot a myriad of food
The eggs seem tasty, the ham not so good
I grab some pancakes and ponder
Looking at my plate, my mind starts to wander

Such delicious, golden disks, made of purest wheat
A breakfast item of such caliber is a great treat
Especially when sweet syrup is poured
Like nectar from old Greek lore

As I finish my delectable meal, I start to become inspired
By the astonishing breakfast that has transpired
To cook up a poem on a glorious breakfast
The taste of which is very steadfast
